The Man City striker has scored an astronomical number of goals in the Premier League and Champions League for his club. Recently spearheading Norway to their first FIFA World Cup since 1998. Haaland has equalled the record for scoring in consecutive international matches, having struck against Italy on November 16th, 2025. This marked 11 consecutive international appearances with a goal, tying a record that hadn’t been broken for over 60 years.
The record had been achieved before by Abdul Ghani Minhat of Malaysia, confirmed by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t come close to the record with his best attempt, which was 6. Lionel Messi came closer as he netted in 8 consecutive international matches, but he missed the chance to break the record with a blank against Poland, which would’ve seen him score in 15 consecutive games.

Playing 48 international games, Haaland has delivered 55 goals, averaging over a goal per game. At just 25 years old, it’s possible that Haaland could potentially surpass Cristiano Ronaldo’s all-time goal record in men’s international football of 143 goals in 226 appearances, with Haaland still having his prime years ahead of him.
